MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav App Reviews

Appreciate the feature to change back to the "old style" maps with all the detail and POIs they contain. Makes exploring the forests of Germany that have very few landmarks easier when you see them on the map. For people who need less detail but a good looking map that is always available without internet, the default style is also very nice. The ability to edit the map is great. Its very easy and anyone with basic knowledge of maps can contribute to making the data more accurate. Traffic looks good. But as I dont have a car, Im more interested in seeing a transit feature added.

I used maps.me in Cuba for two weeks and its been invaluable as the country doesnt have internet access. It even has offline navigation and most of the points of interests we were looking for. However, it would freeze my phone at least once a day. To reproduce, launch the app on an iPhone 7 and start dragging as soon as it starts loading the map. If not all "layers" are loaded, itll freeze your phone and youll have to restart it manually. Didnt even know an app could freeze the entire OS. Would rate 5 stars without this big bug, and maybe with a better search (offline map search for something like "coffee").

I travel to Spain and I was unable to use my phone due to roaming charges. I went to Madrid and north of Spain by car and this app was amazing! Never get lost! Best app ever, I recommended it to a lot of friends.

I was on vacation in Curaçao and desperately needed a sufficient GPS system, and this app never failed.

This is my best app for maps and its no need for Internet and if you can make some improvements on the places so it will be more better

I used this app in Costa Rica. I had all my data turned off and was able to use this app driving dirt roads. It was accurate and tracked my location in real time. Rarely any lag. I spent two months traveling and got by without ever buying a data card.

I like this app, because, it uses "open street map", as maps source. Offline mode is the base of this app for me.

If you want to have maps while traveling overseas -- but not use any of your cell data -- this is an indispensable app. Ive now used it three times on international trips and its so clutch. You need this. Update: Just used it for yet another trip. Still feel the same way. Great!

Incredible free offline GPS, whats not to like

We are on a vacation to 3 euro countries for 3 weeks. No wifi or cell or SIM cards purchased, so a local helped us find our way back one day and mentioned this app. Truly works without cell or wifi. Lifesaver. Easy. No pop ups or ads. Wish I found it or knew of it last week.

Really beast map app

This is the best map in the App Store, its very handy, its working like a charm even when youre offline, I like this app more than google map, thanks for the recent updates.

This is the best offline navigation ever!

It would be great to have the music voice faded when the app wants to give voice guidance. Also I cant improve the voice quality.
